Target sailing regatta

You are invited to Captain or crew on board one of the 10 AYC yachts taking part in Targer sailing regatta from Vodice marina, Croatia where you will take part in 2 days of sailing fun and wind driven action. On both days you will start and complete the course returning back to Vodice.

What is Target sailing

A Target sailing regatta is designed for safe competitive sailing and is intended for new and non proffesional sailors to improve their sailing and navigational skills. You will be racing against the clock so your teamwork is important at all times. Unlike other sailing regattas there is no risk of a collision with other boats as each boat will make its own time slot and each boat will sail to the best of the crew's ability.

Every boat taking part will recieve a certificate of merit based on the final score, style of sailing and spirit of the regatta.

The regatta will be judged by 3 officials at the end of each stage and the result given to each boat.

How it works

At the briefing before each stage you will recieve the Targets coordinates (Navigation waypoints) you must hit during the regatta.

All the boats taking part must cross the start and finish lines between 10:00 and 18:00h.

Each Target offers a 30 minute bonus for an accurate hit within 100 m of the coordinates, or a 15 minute bonus within 200 m or a 5 min bonus within 400m.

At the end of each stage the time between start and finish will be recorded and the bonus times deducted, this will be your score.

NOTE: Some Targets may have an entrance and exit rule applied.

NOTE: The Judge's decision is final and is based on the Webeye satelite systems results. The organisers take no responsibility for damage to boats, property or personal injury. Weather conditions may affect the course each day.

While you are with us you will experience the warm Croatian hospitality and be cared for by our AYC skippers that will give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy some great sailing and make new friends.

A minimum charge of 125 euros per person is charged to cover organisers, meals, certificates and boat cleaning.

Agenda

The fun will begin in Vodice the day before regatta, 18:00h you can Check-in and board your boat, 19:00h by a reception form in a local restaurant where we will welcome you and supply you with all the information you need for the following few days.
